  • Recycling 1 aluminum pop can save enough energy to run your TV for 3 hours!
  • 1 mature tree on the south side of your house provides enough summer shade as 5 mid-size air conditioners!
  • A small drip from your faucet can waste as much as 20 gallons of water a day!

What can you do in your town and neighborhood to help "GO GREEN!"

Activity #1:
Encourage your parents and neighbors to reuse their shopping bags. Take your paper and plastic sacks back to the grocery store with you and reuse them. OR many stores now offer a reusable bag that you can purchase and bring with you every time you shop! Encourage your girl scout troop to purchase reusable bags that you can decorate for your parents so they will LOVE to use them every time!
Activity #2:
Recycle an old pair of shoes...use an old shoe, paint and decorate it. Fill it full of dirt and plant a flower in it. Give it to your mom or grandma! Here is a poem to attach: Mom so sweet remember when in this old shoe my toes would fit? Now painted so shiny and new a memorable recyclable just for you!
